Marketing and Audience Engagement

Site Analytics

In comparison to last spring, readership has started off stronger with a gradual increase of views throughout January. As The Oracle is a completely digital news publication, though we can't physically distribute our article physically, we have several ways to promote the news site in and out of our school community.

As the school fully funds the journalism program, we are fortunate enough to need ads in order to sustain the news site.

Newsletter

Each week, The Oracle promotes the weekly articles in two newsletters: one specifically for The Oracle and in the newsletter our schools sends to the parents.

Below includes The Oracle's newsletter analytics for the Jan. 29, 2024 newsletter. One thing to note about our newsletter — serviced through MailChimp — is how normally when we send a newsletter to a grade, since our school's IT has created We are now shifting to a system that includes the student body's individual emails

Social Media

Aside from creating shows and templates for reels and posts on social media, I also was able to begin the shift the Instagram page to include more face-to-face connection with the community by posting about even small events in the day like a chess club meeting or a game in the courtyard. I also experimented with different designs for when we post about our articles in the stories sector of Instagram. Additionally, all published stories are also posted on Facebook as a post.
